It is assigned for japa for the fulfillment of all desired goals through the grace of Sri Mahalakshmi.

- verse 170महालक्ष्मीरुवाच-नाम्नां साष्टसहस्रं मे प्रमादाद्वापि यस्सकृत् ।कीर्तयेत्तत्कुले सत्यं वसाम्याचन्द्रतारकम् ॥ 4 ॥mahālakṣmīruvācha-nāmnāṃ sāṣṭasahasraṃ mē pramādādvāpi yassakṛt ।kīrtayēttatkulē satyaṃ vasāmyāchandratārakam ॥ 4 ॥meaning
Mahalakshmi spoke: Whoever even once inadvertently recites my eight thousand names — in that family I shall truly reside as long as the moon and stars endure.
- verse 171किं पुनर्नियमाज्जप्तुर्मदेकशरणस्य च ।मातृवत्सानुकम्पाहं पोषकी स्यामहर्निशम् ॥ 5 ॥kiṃ punarniyamājjapturmadēkaśaraṇasya cha ।mātṛvatsānukampāhaṃ pōṣakī syāmaharniśam ॥ 5 ॥meaning
What more for the disciplined reciter who takes refuge in me alone? With motherly compassion I shall nourish him day and night.
- verse 172मन्नाम स्तवतां लोके दुर्लभं नास्ति चिन्तितम् ।मत्प्रसादेन सर्वेऽपि स्वस्वेष्टार्थमवाप्स्यथ ॥ 6 ॥mannāma stavatāṃ lōkē durlabhaṃ nāsti chintitam ।matprasādēna sarvē'pi svasvēṣṭārthamavāpsyatha ॥ 6 ॥meaning
For those who praise my names in this world, nothing desired is unattainable. By my grace, all of you shall attain each your own desired goals.
- verse 173लुप्तवैष्णवधर्मस्य मद्व्रतेष्ववकीर्णिनः ।भक्तिप्रपत्तिहीनस्य वन्द्यो नाम्नां स्तवोऽपि मे ॥ 7 ॥luptavaiṣṇavadharmasya madvratēṣvavakīrṇinaḥ ।bhaktiprapattihīnasya vandyō nāmnāṃ stavō'pi mē ॥ 7 ॥meaning
Even for one who has abandoned Vaishnava dharma, who has deviated in my vows, who lacks devotion and surrender — even the praise of my names is worthy of honor.
- verse 174तस्मादवश्यं तैर्दोषैर्विहीनः पापवर्जितः ।जपेत्साष्टसहस्रं मे नाम्नां प्रत्यहमादरात् ॥ 8 ॥tasmādavaśyaṃ tairdōṣairvihīnaḥ pāpavarjitaḥ ।japētsāṣṭasahasraṃ mē nāmnāṃ pratyahamādarāt ॥ 8 ॥meaning
Therefore, one must certainly be free from those faults, free from sin, and recite my eight thousand names daily with reverence.

Even one who is directly a son of ill-fortune, unfortunate, lazy, or without effort; even the deluded, the disabled, the fallen —
- verse 176अवश्यं प्राप्नुयाद्भाग्यं मत्प्रसादेन केवलम् ।स्पृहेयमचिराद्देवा वरदानाय जापिनः ।ददामि सर्वमिष्टार्थं लक्ष्मीति स्मरतां ध्रुवम् ॥ 10 ॥avaśyaṃ prāpnuyādbhāgyaṃ matprasādēna kēvalam ।spṛhēyamachirāddēvā varadānāya jāpinaḥ ।dadāmi sarvamiṣṭārthaṃ lakṣmīti smaratāṃ dhruvam ॥ 10 ॥meaning
By my grace alone, he will certainly attain prosperity. O gods, I shall soon desire to grant boons to the reciter. I shall certainly give all desired goals to those who remember 'Lakshmi.'
- verse 177सनत्कुमार उवाच-इत्युक्त्वाऽन्तर्दधे लक्ष्मीर्वैष्णवी भगवत्कला ।इष्टापूर्तं च सुकृतं भागधेयं च चिन्तितम् ॥ 11 ॥sanatkumāra uvācha-ityuktvā'ntardadhē lakṣmīrvaiṣṇavī bhagavatkalā ।iṣṭāpūrtaṃ cha sukṛtaṃ bhāgadhēyaṃ cha chintitam ॥ 11 ॥meaning
Sanatkumara spoke: Having said this, Lakshmi — the power of Vishnu, an aspect of the Lord — disappeared. The meritorious deeds, good works, good fortune and cherished desires [of the gods were fulfilled].
- verse 178स्वं स्वं स्थानं च भोगं च विजयं लेभिरे सुराः ।तदेतत् प्रवदाम्यद्य लक्ष्मीनामसहस्रकम् ।योगिनः पठत क्षिप्रं चिन्तितार्थानवाप्स्यथ ॥ 12 ॥svaṃ svaṃ sthānaṃ cha bhōgaṃ cha vijayaṃ lēbhirē surāḥ ।tadētat pravadāmyadya lakṣmīnāmasahasrakam ।yōginaḥ paṭhata kṣipraṃ chintitārthānavāpsyatha ॥ 12 ॥meaning
The gods regained each their own place, their enjoyment and their victory. Now I declare this thousand-name hymn of Lakshmi — O yogis, recite it swiftly and you shall attain all your desired goals.
- verse 179गार्ग्य उवाच-सनत्कुमारोयोगीन्द्र इत्युक्त्वा स दयानिधिः ।अनुगृह्य ययौ क्षिप्रं तांश्च द्वादशयोगिनः ॥ 13 ॥gārgya uvācha-sanatkumārōyōgīndra ityuktvā sa dayānidhiḥ ।anugṛhya yayau kṣipraṃ tāṃścha dvādaśayōginaḥ ॥ 13 ॥meaning
Gargya spoke: Thus spoke Sanatkumara, the king of yogis, that ocean of compassion, and having blessed them, he departed quickly — those twelve yogis.
- verse 180तस्मादेतद्रहस्यं च गोप्यं जप्यं प्रयत्नतः ।अष्टम्यां च चतुर्दश्यां नवम्यां भृगुवासरे ॥ 14 ॥tasmādētadrahasyaṃ cha gōpyaṃ japyaṃ prayatnataḥ ।aṣṭamyāṃ cha chaturdaśyāṃ navamyāṃ bhṛguvāsarē ॥ 14 ॥meaning
Therefore this secret and confidential text is to be recited with care: on the eighth, fourteenth, ninth day of the lunar fortnight, and on Friday.
