- verse 1श्री नारद उवाच –भगवन्सर्वधर्मज्ञ कवचं यत्प्रकाशितम् ।त्रैलोक्यमङ्गलं नाम कृपया कथय प्रभो ॥ 1 ॥śrī nārada uvācha –bhagavansarvadharmajña kavachaṃ yatprakāśitam ।trailōkyamaṅgaḻaṃ nāma kṛpayā kathaya prabhō ॥ 1 ॥meaning
Narada asks Sanatkumara: O knower of all dharmas, graciously teach me the armor called Trailokya Mangala that has been revealed.

Sanatkumara speaks: Hear, O foremost of brahmins, I will teach you the supremely wondrous armor that Narayana once graciously told to Brahma.

Having bowed to the guru according to prescription, one then recites this armor; once, twice, or thrice according to one's capacity — for one who does so is the embodiment of all austerities.

Having performed the homa and other rites at one-tenth of that, one will surely accomplish it; if the armor is perfected one becomes Vishnu himself.

One's mantra becomes perfected through the purascharana procedure; constantly having surpassed rivalry, Lakshmi and Vani will dwell in that one.

Having offered eight handfuls of flowers using the root mantra itself, one attains the fruit of ten thousand years of worship.

If one writes the armor on a birch leaf, places it in a golden case, and wears it at the neck or on the right arm — that one is indeed Vishnu without doubt.

A thousand ashvamedha sacrifices, a hundred vajapeya sacrifices, all the great gifts, and circumambulating the earth —
- verse 40कलां नार्हन्ति तान्येव सकृदुच्चारणात्ततः ।कवचस्य प्रसादेन जीवन्मुक्तो भवेन्नरः ॥ 40 ॥kaḻāṃ nārhanti tānyēva sakṛduchchāraṇāttataḥ ।kavachasya prasādēna jīvanmuktō bhavēnnaraḥ ॥ 40 ॥meaning
These do not amount to even a fraction of the merit of once reciting this armor; by the grace of this armor a person becomes liberated while living.
- verse 41त्रैलोक्यं क्षोभयत्येव त्रैलोक्यविजयी स हि ।इदं कवचमज्ञात्वा यजेद्यः पुरुषोत्तमम् ।शतलक्षप्रजप्तोऽपि न मन्त्रस्तस्य सिद्ध्यति ॥ 41 ॥trailōkyaṃ kṣōbhayatyēva trailōkyavijayī sa hi ।idaṃ kavachamajñātvā yajēdyaḥ puruṣōttamam ।śatalakṣaprajaptō'pi na mantrastasya siddhyati ॥ 41 ॥meaning
He shakes the three worlds and is the conqueror of the three worlds; whoever worships the best of persons without knowing this armor — even if he repeats the mantra a hundred thousand times it will not become perfected for him.
