- verse 1अस्य श्रीहनुमत्सहस्रनामस्तोत्रमहामन्त्रस्य श्रीरामचन्द्र ऋषिः अनुष्टुप्छन्दः श्रीहनुमान्महारुद्रो देवता ह्रीं श्रीं ह्रौं ह्रां बीजं श्रीं इति शक्तिः किलिकिल बुबु कारेण इति कीलकं लङ्काविध्वंसनेति कवचं मम सर्वोपद्रवशान्त्यर्थे मम सर्वकार्यसिद्ध्यर्थे जपे विनियोगः ।asya śrīhanumatsahasranāmastōtramahāmantrasya śrīrāmachandra ṛṣiḥ anuṣṭupChandaḥ śrīhanumānmahārudrō dēvatā hrīṃ śrīṃ hrauṃ hrāṃ bījaṃ śrīṃ iti śaktiḥ kilikila bubu kārēṇa iti kīlakaṃ laṅkāvidhvaṃsanēti kavachaṃ mama sarvōpadravaśāntyarthē mama sarvakāryasiddhyarthē japē viniyōgaḥ ।meaning
This is the invocation (viniyoga) establishing the ṛṣi as Sri Ramachandra, the meter as Anuṣṭup, the deity as Hanuman the Great Rudra, the seed-syllables as hrīṃ śrīṃ hrauṃ hrāṃ with śrīṃ as the power, the lock as kilikila bubu, and the armor as the destruction of Lanka—all for the pacification of all calamities and accomplishment of all my works through recitation.

Meditate upon Hanuman, whose form blazes golden, whose eyes burn with crimson light, who stands with Sugriva and his companions, clothed in yellow garments; whose tail has made the ocean into a footprint and crowns his head as lord; who bears the wisdom-mudra and wears all ornaments; whose left hand draws the circle of ten faces toward him, and whose right arm raises the staff of power.
