    अखण्डमण्डलाकारं व्याप्तं येन चराचरम् ।तत्पदं दर्शितं येन तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः ॥ 1 ॥
    akhaṇḍamaṇḍalākāraṃ vyāptaṃ yēna charācharam ।tatpadaṃ darśitaṃ yēna tasmai śrīguravē namaḥ ॥ 1 ॥
    meaning

    Salutation to that blessed Guru by whom the unbroken, all-pervading absolute reality was shown.

    meaning

    Salutation to that blessed Guru who opened the blind eyes of the one blinded by ignorance-darkness by applying the collyrium of knowledge.

    meaning

    The guru is Brahma, the guru is Vishnu, the guru is the great lord Maheshvara—the guru is indeed the supreme Brahman; salutation to that blessed Guru.

    Salutation to that blessed Guru by whom was shown the reality pervading all the moveable and immoveable, all that exists.

    chinmayaṃ vyāpiyatsarvaṃ trailōkyaṃ sacharācharam ।tatpadaṃ darśitaṃ yēna tasmai śrīguravē namaḥ ॥ 5 ॥

    Salutation to that blessed Guru by whom was shown the conscious-light reality that pervades all of the three worlds with the moveable and the immoveable.

    त्सर्वश्रुतिशिरोरत्नविराजित पदाम्बुजः ।वेदान्ताम्बुजसूर्योयः तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः ॥ 6 ॥
    tsarvaśrutiśirōratnavirājita padāmbujaḥ ।vēdāntāmbujasūryōyaḥ tasmai śrīguravē namaḥ ॥ 6 ॥
    meaning

    Whose lotus feet are resplendent with the jewel of all scriptures' heads—who is the sun for the lotus of Vedanta knowledge; salutation to that blessed Guru.

    चैतन्यः शाश्वतःशान्तो व्योमातीतो निरञ्जनः ।बिन्दुनाद कलातीतः तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः ॥ 7 ॥
    chaitanyaḥ śāśvataḥśāntō vyōmātītō nirañjanaḥ ।bindunāda kalātītaḥ tasmai śrīguravē namaḥ ॥ 7 ॥
    meaning

    Consciousness, eternal, peaceful, beyond the sky, untainted—beyond point, sound, and the absolute; salutation to that blessed Guru.

    ज्ञानशक्तिसमारूढः तत्त्वमालाविभूषितः ।भुक्तिमुक्तिप्रदाता च तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः ॥ 8 ॥
    jñānaśaktisamārūḍhaḥ tattvamālāvibhūṣitaḥ ।bhuktimuktipradātā cha tasmai śrīguravē namaḥ ॥ 8 ॥
    meaning

    Seated on the power of knowledge, adorned with the garland of principles—the giver of enjoyment and liberation; salutation to that blessed Guru.

    meaning

    To the one who burns the bondage of karma accumulated over many births by the gift of self-knowledge; salutation to that blessed Guru.

    meaning

    The drying up of the ocean of worldly existence, the discovery of the essence of wealth—the foot-water of the Guru properly; salutation to that blessed Guru.

    न गुरोरधिकं तत्त्वं न गुरोरधिकं तपः ।तत्त्वज्ञानात्परं नास्ति तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः ॥ 11 ॥
    na gurōradhikaṃ tattvaṃ na gurōradhikaṃ tapaḥ ।tattvajñānātparaṃ nāsti tasmai śrīguravē namaḥ ॥ 11 ॥
    meaning

    There is nothing higher than the Guru as truth, nothing higher as austerity—there is nothing beyond knowledge of reality; salutation to that blessed Guru.

    mannāthaḥ śrījagannāthaḥ madguruḥ śrījagadguruḥ ।madātmā sarvabhūtātmā tasmai śrīguravē namaḥ ॥ 12 ॥
    meaning

    My lord is Shri Jagannatha; my Guru is Shri Jagadguru—my self is the self of all beings; salutation to that blessed Guru.

    The Guru is the first, without beginning; the Guru is the supreme deity—there is nothing higher than the Guru; salutation to that blessed Guru.
