On the beautiful peak of Kailasa, adorned with many jewels, Parvati asked Shiva for the benefit of all men and women.

The Goddess said: O Mahadeva, if I am truly your beloved, please recite the 108 names of the great vidya Bhuvaneshwari.

— those who always read this with devotion will not be sharers of sorrow; whether one time, two times, or three times, or four times a day —
- verse 24ये पठन्ति सदा भक्त्या स्वर्गलोके च पूजिताः ।रुद्रं दृष्ट्वा यथा देवाः पन्नगा गरुडं यथा ।शत्रवः प्रपलायन्ते तस्य वक्त्रविलोकनात् ॥ 23 ॥yē paṭhanti sadā bhaktyā svargalōkē cha pūjitāḥ ।rudraṃ dṛṣṭvā yathā dēvāḥ pannagā garuḍaṃ yathā ।śatravaḥ prapalāyantē tasya vaktravilōkanāt ॥ 23 ॥meaning
— those who always recite this with devotion are honored in the heavenly world; enemies flee as the gods flee before Rudra, as serpents flee before Garuda.
