- verse 1इति त्वयि रसाकुलं रमितवल्लभे वल्लवाःकदापि पुरमम्बिकामितुरम्बिकाकानने ।समेत्य भवता समं निशि निषेव्य दिव्योत्सवंसुखं सुषुपुरग्रसीद्व्रजपमुग्रनागस्तदा ॥1॥iti tvayi rasākulaṃ ramitavallabhē vallavāḥkadāpi puramambikāmiturambikākānanē ।samētya bhavatā samaṃ niśi niṣēvya divyōtsavaṃsukhaṃ suṣupuragrasīdvrajapamugranāgastadā ॥1॥meaning
While you were thus absorbed in the sport of love with the beloved women of Vraja, once in the forest of Ambika the cowherd folk saw a festival with you at night — then the terrible serpent Agha attacked the village.
- verse 2समुन्मुखमथोल्मुकैरभिहतेऽपि तस्मिन् बला-दमुञ्चति भवत्पदे न्यपति पाहि पाहीति तैः ।तदा खलु पदा भवान् समुपगम्य पस्पर्श तंबभौ स च निजां तनुं समुपसाद्य वैद्यधरीम् ॥2॥samunmukhamathōlmukairabhihatē'pi tasmin balā-damuñchati bhavatpadē nyapati pāhi pāhīti taiḥ ।tadā khalu padā bhavān samupagamya pasparśa taṃbabhau sa cha nijāṃ tanuṃ samupasādya vaidyadharīm ॥2॥meaning
The serpent struck repeatedly with burning firebrands but did not release from your feet; calling "protect, protect" the gopas fell at your feet — then you approached him with your foot and touched him, and he shone in his own form, a Vidyadhara.
- verse 3सुदर्शनधर प्रभो ननु सुदर्शनाख्योऽस्म्यहंमुनीन् क्वचिदपाहसं त इह मां व्यधुर्वाहसम् ।भवत्पदसमर्पणादमलतां गतोऽस्मीत्यसौस्तुवन् निजपदं ययौ व्रजपदं च गोपा मुदा ॥3॥sudarśanadhara prabhō nanu sudarśanākhyō'smyahaṃmunīn kvachidapāhasaṃ ta iha māṃ vyadhurvāhasam ।bhavatpadasamarpaṇādamalatāṃ gatō'smītyasaustuvan nijapadaṃ yayau vrajapadaṃ cha gōpā mudā ॥3॥meaning
He said: "O Sudarshana-bearer, O Lord, I am Sudarshana by name — I once laughed at some sages and they cursed me to this state; by surrendering to your feet I have attained purity." Thus praising, he went to his own abode, and the gopas returned to Vraja with joy.
- verse 4कदापि खलु सीरिणा विहरति त्वयि स्त्रीजनै-र्जहार धनदानुगः स किल शङ्खचूडोऽबलाः ।अतिद्रुतमनुद्रुतस्तमथ मुक्तनारीजनंरुरोजिथ शिरोमणिं हलभृते च तस्याददाः ॥4॥kadāpi khalu sīriṇā viharati tvayi strījanai-rjahāra dhanadānugaḥ sa kila śaṅkhachūḍō'balāḥ ।atidrutamanudrutastamatha muktanārījanaṃrurōjitha śirōmaṇiṃ halabhṛtē cha tasyādadāḥ ॥4॥meaning
Once while Balarama was sporting, that very Shankha-chuda, a servant of Kubera, suddenly carried off the women; Balarama chased him with great speed and freed the women — you ran ahead of him and took his head-jewel, which you then gave to your brother Balarama.

Day after day you were in the forests with friends absorbed in play, enchanting the minds of love as ambrosia-like sounds of the flute flowed — what did the gopis who were the eyes of the immortals, the givers of the nectar of your vision, not say when separated from you, consumed by separation-fire?
- verse 6भोजराजभृतकस्त्वथ कश्चित् कष्टदुष्टपथदृष्टिररिष्टः ।निष्ठुराकृतिरपष्ठुनिनादस्तिष्ठते स्म भवते वृषरूपी ॥6॥bhōjarājabhṛtakastvatha kaśchit kaṣṭaduṣṭapathadṛṣṭirariṣṭaḥ ।niṣṭhurākṛtirapaṣṭhuninādastiṣṭhatē sma bhavatē vṛṣarūpī ॥6॥meaning
Then a certain hired servant of the Bhoja king, the wicked Arishta with crooked sight and fearsome form, terrible in voice — stood in bull-shape before you.
- verse 7शाक्वरोऽथ जगतीधृतिहारी मूर्तिमेष बृहतीं प्रदधानः ।पङ्क्तिमाशु परिघूर्ण्य पशूनां छन्दसां निधिमवाप भवन्तम् ॥7॥śākvarō'tha jagatīdhṛtihārī mūrtimēṣa bṛhatīṃ pradadhānaḥ ।paṅktimāśu parighūrṇya paśūnāṃ Chandasāṃ nidhimavāpa bhavantam ॥7॥meaning
That Shakura-demon, bearing a great form, destroyer of the earth, presented a massive body — swiftly circling the herd of cattle, he came upon you, the treasure-house of the Vedas.
- verse 8तुङ्गशृङ्गमुखमाश्वभियन्तं सङ्गृहय्य रभसादभियं तम् ।भद्ररूपमपि दैत्यमभद्रं मर्दयन्नमदयः सुरलोकम् ॥8॥tuṅgaśṛṅgamukhamāśvabhiyantaṃ saṅgṛhayya rabhasādabhiyaṃ tam ।bhadrarūpamapi daityamabhadraṃ mardayannamadayaḥ suralōkam ॥8॥meaning
Seizing that bull who ran at you from the front with a high peak-like face, you seized him swiftly and, though bull-formed the demon was wicked, you crushed him and delighted the gods.

O Lord, wondrous is this — after the killing of the bull, the stable state of the bull is now established in the world; and there is increasing joy in the heart of the bull — thus the gods praised you.

Let the bull-born ones run far away, let them see — this is the bull-splitter here! — thus laughing with the cowherd boys you went home, O Lord of Guruvayur, protect me.
