Even as Krishna made himself ready, adorned and wearing an armour of fine cloth at his breast — among the assembly of young women with gem-earrings swinging at their cheeks, he began to move about in the circle.

O Vasudeva, the fragrant essence of this Rasa dance — heard from afar through Narada's narration — filled Narada with eager curiosity; he saw you surrounded by hundreds of beautifully adorned women.

The flute-melody, the graceful steps keeping time, the pleasing soft footfalls making the rhythm, the clinking bracelets — and as arms rested on shoulders and hands touched repeatedly, the dance was enchanting.

As they competed with rising, sweet, mellifluous voices in song, as their ornaments danced with graceful movements of their bodies — the gods in the sky rained flowers in joy and beat drums.
- verse 6स्विन्नसन्नतनुवल्लरी तदनु कापि नाम पशुपाङ्गनाकान्तमंसमवलम्बते स्म तव तान्तिभारमुकुलेक्षणा ॥काचिदाचलितकुन्तला नवपटीरसारघनसौरभंवञ्चनेन तव सञ्चुचुम्ब भुजमञ्चितोरुपुलकाङ्कुरा ॥6॥svinnasannatanuvallarī tadanu kāpi nāma paśupāṅganākāntamaṃsamavalambatē sma tava tāntibhāramukulēkṣaṇā ॥kāchidāchalitakuntalā navapaṭīrasāraghanasaurabhaṃvañchanēna tava sañchuchumba bhujamañchitōrupulakāṅkurā ॥6॥meaning
Then one exhausted girl, her slender body leaning on his dear shoulder, her eyes half-closed in weariness — another loosened her hair-knot.
- verse 7कापि गण्डभुवि सन्निधाय निजगण्डमाकुलितकुण्डलंपुण्यपूरनिधिरन्ववाप तव पूगचर्वितरसामृतम् ।इन्दिराविहृतिमन्दिरं भुवनसुन्दरं हि नटनान्तरेत्वामवाप्य दधुरङ्गनाः किमु न सम्मदोन्मददशान्तरम् ॥7॥kāpi gaṇḍabhuvi sannidhāya nijagaṇḍamākulitakuṇḍalaṃpuṇyapūranidhiranvavāpa tava pūgacharvitarasāmṛtam ।indirāvihṛtimandiraṃ bhuvanasundaraṃ hi naṭanāntarētvāmavāpya dadhuraṅganāḥ kimu na sammadōnmadadaśāntaram ॥7॥meaning
Another, pressing her cheek to his, her earrings trembling, received from him who is a treasury of merit the nectar of the betelnuts he had chewed.

When the music gradually stopped and the instruments ceased, O Lord, those women — dissolved in the bliss of Brahman — danced in the assembly alone.

Bringing the world to the summit of delight and completing the sport, O Vibhu — to those women whose pure bodies were graced with fresh drops of perspiration, their minds unable to bear Kama.

O Lord, freely sporting among those women who were supremely cherished and tenderly fondled, you sported in the beautiful waters of the Yamuna; also in the cool-breezy forest.
- verse 11कामिनीरिति हि यामिनीषु खलु कामनीयकनिधे भवान्पूर्णसम्मदरसार्णवं कमपि योगिगम्यमनुभावयन् ।ब्रह्मशङ्करमुखानपीह पशुपाङ्गनासु बहुमानयन्भक्तलोकगमनीयरूप कमनीय कृष्ण परिपाहि माम् ॥11॥kāminīriti hi yāminīṣu khalu kāmanīyakanidhē bhavānpūrṇasammadarasārṇavaṃ kamapi yōgigamyamanubhāvayan ।brahmaśaṅkaramukhānapīha paśupāṅganāsu bahumānayanbhaktalōkagamanīyarūpa kamanīya kṛṣṇa paripāhi mām ॥11॥meaning
O you who are the abode of beauty and loveliness — on those nights, as the women were intoxicated by love, you filled them and even the yogis with an ocean of bliss that is most secret, beyond gods like Brahma and Shankara. [Phalashruti type]
