    त्वयि विहरणलोले बालजालैः प्रलम्ब-प्रमथनसविलम्बे धेनवः स्वैरचाराः ।तृणकुतुकनिविष्टा दूरदूरं चरन्त्यःकिमपि विपिनमैषीकाख्यमीषाम्बभूवुः ॥1॥
    tvayi viharaṇalōlē bālajālaiḥ pralamba-pramathanasavilambē dhēnavaḥ svairachārāḥ ।tṛṇakutukaniviṣṭā dūradūraṃ charantyaḥkimapi vipinamaiṣīkākhyamīṣāmbabhūvuḥ ॥1॥
    meaning

    While you were engrossed in sport with the cowherd boys, delayed in killing Pralamba, the cows grazed freely, drifting ever further into the depths of the forest, absorbed in eating grass.

    अनधिगतनिदाघक्रौर्यवृन्दावनान्तात्बहिरिदमुपयाताः काननं धेनवस्ताः ।तव विरहविषण्णा ऊष्मलग्रीष्मताप-प्रसरविसरदम्भस्याकुलाः स्तम्भमापुः ॥2॥
    anadhigatanidāghakrauryavṛndāvanāntātbahiridamupayātāḥ kānanaṃ dhēnavastāḥ ।tava virahaviṣaṇṇā ūṣmalagrīṣmatāpa-prasaravisaradambhasyākulāḥ stambhamāpuḥ ॥2॥
    meaning

    Those cows who had wandered far out of the forest that was untouched by summer's cruelty — once they strayed outside into another forest — became dejected in your separation, scorched by summer's heat.

    तदनु सह सहायैर्दूरमन्विष्य शौरेगलितसरणिमुञ्जारण्यसञ्जातखेदम् ।पशुकुलमभिवीक्ष्य क्षिप्रमानेतुमारा-त्त्वयि गतवति ही ही सर्वतोऽग्निर्जजृम्भे ॥3॥
    tadanu saha sahāyairdūramanviṣya śaurēgalitasaraṇimuñjāraṇyasañjātakhēdam ।paśukulamabhivīkṣya kṣipramānētumārā-ttvayi gatavati hī hī sarvatō'gnirjajṛmbhē ॥3॥
    meaning

    Then, searching far with your companions, O son of Sura, afflicted by the weariness of struggling through the munja-grass wilderness, you saw the herd of animals.

    सकलहरिति दीप्ते घोरभाङ्कारभीमेशिखिनि विहतमार्गा अर्धदग्धा इवार्ताः ।अहह भुवनबन्धो पाहि पाहीति सर्वेशरणमुपगतास्त्वां तापहर्तारमेकम् ॥4॥
    sakalahariti dīptē ghōrabhāṅkārabhīmēśikhini vihatamārgā ardhadagdhā ivārtāḥ ।ahaha bhuvanabandhō pāhi pāhīti sarvēśaraṇamupagatāstvāṃ tāpahartāramēkam ॥4॥
    meaning

    Suddenly the blazing fire of fierce roar, dreadful in its spread — with its path blocked — the animals were as if half-burned and afflicted; they all cried out 'O friend of the world, protect us, protect us!' and took refuge in you.

    अलमलमतिभीत्या सर्वतो मीलयध्वंदृशमिति तव वाचा मीलिताक्षेषु तेषु ।क्व नु दवदहनोऽसौ कुत्र मुञ्जाटवी सासपदि ववृतिरे ते हन्त भाण्डीरदेशे ॥5॥
    alamalamatibhītyā sarvatō mīlayadhvaṃdṛśamiti tava vāchā mīlitākṣēṣu tēṣu ।kva nu davadahanō'sau kutra muñjāṭavī sāsapadi vavṛtirē tē hanta bhāṇḍīradēśē ॥5॥
    meaning

    'Have no fear — all of you close your eyes completely,' said your words; when their eyes were closed, where was that forest fire? Where was that munja-grove? Instantly it all vanished.

    जय जय तव माया केयमीशेति तेषांनुतिभिरुदितहासो बद्धनानाविलासः ।पुनरपि विपिनान्ते प्राचरः पाटलादि-प्रसवनिकरमात्रग्राह्यघर्मानुभावे ॥6॥
    jaya jaya tava māyā kēyamīśēti tēṣāṃnutibhiruditahāsō baddhanānāvilāsaḥ ।punarapi vipināntē prācharaḥ pāṭalādi-prasavanikaramātragrāhyagharmānubhāvē ॥6॥
    meaning

    'Victory, victory to your maya, O Lord!' — those who praised you with these words, you filled with many kinds of delight; once again you wandered in the forest grove, gathering various blossoms.

    त्वयि विमुखमिवोच्चैस्तापभारं वहन्तंतव भजनवदन्तः पङ्कमुच्छोषयन्तम् ।तव भुजवदुदञ्चद्भूरितेजःप्रवाहंतपसमयमनैषीर्यामुनेषु स्थलेषु ॥7॥
    tvayi vimukhamivōchchaistāpabhāraṃ vahantaṃtava bhajanavadantaḥ paṅkamuchChōṣayantam ।tava bhujavadudañchadbhūritējaḥpravāhaṃtapasamayamanaiṣīryāmunēṣu sthalēṣu ॥7॥
    meaning

    O Shouri, you led the sun that bore a burden heavier than the sky, scorched like one forsaken by you, yet burning like a column of blazing light rising upward — into the fire of tapas.

    तदनु जलदजालैस्त्वद्वपुस्तुल्यभाभि-र्विकसदमलविद्युत्पीतवासोविलासैः ।सकलभुवनभाजां हर्षदां वर्षवेलांक्षितिधरकुहरेषु स्वैरवासी व्यनैषीः ॥8॥
    tadanu jaladajālaistvadvapustulyabhābhi-rvikasadamalavidyutpītavāsōvilāsaiḥ ।sakalabhuvanabhājāṃ harṣadāṃ varṣavēlāṃkṣitidharakuharēṣu svairavāsī vyanaiṣīḥ ॥8॥
    meaning

    Then with clouds of your own body's colour, with the splendour of pure lightning playing like yellow garments, you produced for all the inhabitants of the worlds a joyful rainy season.

    कुहरतलनिविष्टं त्वां गरिष्ठं गिरीन्द्रःशिखिकुलनवकेकाकाकुभिः स्तोत्रकारी ।स्फुटकुटजकदम्बस्तोमपुष्पाञ्जलिं चप्रविदधदनुभेजे देव गोवर्धनोऽसौ ॥9॥
    kuharatalaniviṣṭaṃ tvāṃ gariṣṭhaṃ girīndraḥśikhikulanavakēkākākubhiḥ stōtrakārī ।sphuṭakuṭajakadambastōmapuṣpāñjaliṃ chapravidadhadanubhējē dēva gōvardhanō'sau ॥9॥
    meaning

    The king of mountains, O great one, worshipped you with a shower of floral offerings — singing praise with the new cries of peacocks; and also offered the dense clusters of fresh Kutaja and Kadamba flowers.

    अथ शरदमुपेतां तां भवद्भक्तचेतो-विमलसलिलपूरां मानयन् काननेषु ।तृणममलवनान्ते चारु सञ्चारयन् गाःपवनपुरपते त्वं देहि मे देहसौख्यम् ॥10॥
    atha śaradamupētāṃ tāṃ bhavadbhaktachētō-vimalasalilapūrāṃ mānayan kānanēṣu ।tṛṇamamalavanāntē chāru sañchārayan gāḥpavanapurapatē tvaṃ dēhi mē dēhasaukhyam ॥10॥

    Then, honouring the autumn that arrived — pure as the water of devotion in the hearts of your devotees — guiding the cows gracefully through the beautiful woodland clearings, O lord of Guruvayu, you.
