    आनन्दरूप भगवन्नयि तेऽवतारेप्राप्ते प्रदीप्तभवदङ्गनिरीयमाणैः ।कान्तिव्रजैरिव घनाघनमण्डलैर्द्या-मावृण्वती विरुरुचे किल वर्षवेला ॥1॥
    ānandarūpa bhagavannayi tē'vatārēprāptē pradīptabhavadaṅganirīyamāṇaiḥ ।kāntivrajairiva ghanāghanamaṇḍalairdyā-māvṛṇvatī viruruchē kila varṣavēlā ॥1॥
    meaning

    O form of bliss, O Lord, at your descent, as brilliant radiances streamed from your divine body the sky, covered by dark rain-bearing clouds as if lit up, shone beautifully with the radiance of the rains.

    āśāsu śītalatarāsu payōdatōyai-rāśāsitāptivivaśēṣu cha sajjanēṣu ।naiśākarōdayavidhau niśi madhyamāyāṃklēśāpahastrijagatāṃ tvamihāvirāsīḥ ॥2॥

    When the quarters became cooler through the cloud-water, when the faithful devotees received what they longed for, in the middle of the night during the rising of the moon, O you who remove distress from all three worlds, you appeared here.

    बाल्यस्पृशाऽपि वपुषा दधुषा विभूती-रुद्यत्किरीटकटकाङ्गदहारभासा ।शङ्खारिवारिजगदापरिभासितेनमेघासितेन परिलेसिथ सूतिगेहे ॥3॥
    bālyaspṛśā'pi vapuṣā dadhuṣā vibhūtī-rudyatkirīṭakaṭakāṅgadahārabhāsā ।śaṅkhārivārijagadāparibhāsitēnamēghāsitēna parilēsitha sūtigēhē ॥3॥
    meaning

    Even with an infant's body, bearing divine powers, blazing with the radiance of upraised crown, armlets, bracelets, and garlands, shining with conch, discus, lotus, and mace, you illumined the delivery room, dark as a cloud.

    वक्षःस्थलीसुखनिलीनविलासिलक्ष्मी-मन्दाक्षलक्षितकटाक्षविमोक्षभेदैः ।तन्मन्दिरस्य खलकंसकृतामलक्ष्मी-मुन्मार्जयन्निव विरेजिथ वासुदेव ॥4॥
    vakṣaḥsthalīsukhanilīnavilāsilakṣmī-mandākṣalakṣitakaṭākṣavimōkṣabhēdaiḥ ।tanmandirasya khalakaṃsakṛtāmalakṣmī-munmārjayanniva virējitha vāsudēva ॥4॥

    Through the different kinds of liberation granted by half-closed side glances resting on the beautiful Lakshmi who lay in bliss on your chest — as if wiping away the unlucky fate created by the wicked Kamsa in that house — you shone, O Vasudeva.

    शौरिस्तु धीरमुनिमण्डलचेतसोऽपिदूरस्थितं वपुरुदीक्ष्य निजेक्षणाभ्याम् ॥आनन्दवाष्पपुलकोद्गमगद्गदार्द्र-स्तुष्टाव दृष्टिमकरन्दरसं भवन्तम् ॥5॥
    śauristu dhīramunimaṇḍalachētasō'pidūrasthitaṃ vapurudīkṣya nijēkṣaṇābhyām ॥ānandavāṣpapulakōdgamagadgadārdra-stuṣṭāva dṛṣṭimakarandarasaṃ bhavantam ॥5॥

    And Vasudeva, though his mind was far away from the assembly of gentle sages, upon gazing at your form with his two eyes, his voice choked with ecstasy, his hairs on end with bliss, his eyes overflowing with tears — praised you.

    देव प्रसीद परपूरुष तापवल्ली-निर्लूनदात्रसमनेत्रकलाविलासिन् ।खेदानपाकुरु कृपागुरुभिः कटाक्षै-रित्यादि तेन मुदितेन चिरं नुतोऽभूः ॥6॥
    dēva prasīda parapūruṣa tāpavallī-nirlūnadātrasamanētrakalāvilāsin ।khēdānapākuru kṛpāgurubhiḥ kaṭākṣai-rityādi tēna muditēna chiraṃ nutō'bhūḥ ॥6॥
    meaning

    'O God, be gracious; O supreme Purusha, O Lord whose eyes play like lotuses cut by heat — the creeper of afflictions — relieve our suffering with compassionate glances' — thus praised by him with joy, you were worshipped.

    मात्रा च नेत्रसलिलास्तृतगात्रवल्यास्तोत्रैरभिष्टुतगुणः करुणालयस्त्वम् ।प्राचीनजन्मयुगलं प्रतिबोध्य ताभ्यांमातुर्गिरा दधिथ मानुषबालवेषम् ॥7॥
    mātrā cha nētrasalilāstṛtagātravalyāstōtrairabhiṣṭutaguṇaḥ karuṇālayastvam ।prāchīnajanmayugalaṃ pratibōdhya tābhyāṃmāturgirā dadhitha mānuṣabālavēṣam ॥7॥
    meaning

    By the mother too, her body thrilled with tears at the eyes, O compassionate one — you were praised by hymns; you revealed to both of them their two previous births and in response to the mother's words you took on the form of an infant.

    त्वत्प्रेरितस्तदनु नन्दतनूजया तेव्यत्यासमारचयितुं स हि शूरसूनुः ।त्वां हस्तयोरधृत चित्तविधार्यमार्यै-रम्भोरुहस्थकलहंसकिशोररम्यम् ॥8॥
    tvatprēritastadanu nandatanūjayā tēvyatyāsamārachayituṃ sa hi śūrasūnuḥ ।tvāṃ hastayōradhṛta chittavidhāryamāryai-rambhōruhasthakalahaṃsakiśōraramyam ॥8॥
    meaning

    Then Vasudeva, prompted by you, wanting to arrange the exchange, carried you in his arms with mind held firm, like a young hamsa bird on a lotus — beautiful.

    जाता तदा पशुपसद्मनि योगनिद्रा ।निद्राविमुद्रितमथाकृत पौरलोकम् ।त्वत्प्रेरणात् किमिव चित्रमचेतनैर्यद्-द्वारैः स्वयं व्यघटि सङ्घटितैः सुगाढम् ॥9॥
    jātā tadā paśupasadmani yōganidrā ।nidrāvimudritamathākṛta pauralōkam ।tvatprēraṇāt kimiva chitramachētanairyad-dvāraiḥ svayaṃ vyaghaṭi saṅghaṭitaiḥ sugāḍham ॥9॥
    meaning

    Sleep then came to the cowherds' dwelling, and sleep closed the eyes of all the people of the city; prompted by you, how wondrous that the inanimate gates opened of their own accord.

    शेषेण भूरिफणवारितवारिणाऽथस्वैरं प्रदर्शितपथो मणिदीपितेन ।त्वां धारयन् स खलु धन्यतमः प्रतस्थेसोऽयं त्वमीश मम नाशय रोगवेगान् ॥10॥

    Then with many-hooded Shesha holding back the rain-water, and the path illuminated by his gems, Vasudeva who carried you went most joyfully — most blessed; that is you, O Lord — destroy the disease of my body.
