- verse 1उद्गच्छतस्तव करादमृतं हरत्सुदैत्येषु तानशरणाननुनीय देवान् ।सद्यस्तिरोदधिथ देव भवत्प्रभावा-दुद्यत्स्वयूथ्यकलहा दितिजा बभूवुः ॥1॥udgachChatastava karādamṛtaṃ haratsudaityēṣu tānaśaraṇānanunīya dēvān ।sadyastirōdadhitha dēva bhavatprabhāvā-dudyatsvayūthyakalahā ditijā babhūvuḥ ॥1॥meaning
When the demons snatched the amrita rising from your hand and the gods were left without refuge, you appeease them, O Lord, and instantly disappeared; by your power the demons began fighting among themselves.
- verse 2श्यामां रुचाऽपि वयसाऽपि तनुं तदानींप्राप्तोऽसि तुङ्गकुचमण्डलभङ्गुरां त्वम् ।पीयूषकुम्भकलहं परिमुच्य सर्वेतृष्णाकुलाः प्रतिययुस्त्वदुरोजकुम्भे ॥2॥śyāmāṃ ruchā'pi vayasā'pi tanuṃ tadānīṃprāptō'si tuṅgakuchamaṇḍalabhaṅgurāṃ tvam ।pīyūṣakumbhakalahaṃ parimuchya sarvētṛṣṇākulāḥ pratiyayustvadurōjakumbhē ॥2॥meaning
Then you assumed a dark-complexioned yet youthful form with high and full breasts; abandoning the quarrel over the amrita vessel, all of them came running, overcome by thirst.
- verse 3का त्वं मृगाक्षि विभजस्व सुधामिमामि-त्यारूढरागविवशानभियाचतोऽमून् ।विश्वस्यते मयि कथं कुलटाऽस्मि दैत्याइत्यालपन्नपि सुविश्वसितानतानीः ॥3॥kā tvaṃ mṛgākṣi vibhajasva sudhāmimāmi-tyārūḍharāgavivaśānabhiyāchatō'mūn ।viśvasyatē mayi kathaṃ kulaṭā'smi daityāityālapannapi suviśvasitānatānīḥ ॥3॥meaning
"Who are you, O deer-eyed one? Distribute this nectar among us!" — thus they begged, overcome by risen desire; even as you spoke to them saying "I am a wanton woman — how can you trust me, O demons?" they trusted you fully.
- verse 4मोदात् सुधाकलशमेषु ददत्सु सा त्वंदुश्चेष्टितं मम सहध्वमिति ब्रुवाणा ।पङ्क्तिप्रभेदविनिवेशितदेवदैत्यालीलाविलासगतिभिः समदाः सुधां ताम् ॥4॥mōdāt sudhākalaśamēṣu dadatsu sā tvaṃduśchēṣṭitaṃ mama sahadhvamiti bruvāṇā ।paṅktiprabhēdavinivēśitadēvadaityālīlāvilāsagatibhiḥ samadāḥ sudhāṃ tām ॥4॥meaning
When they joyfully gave you the nectar vessel, you said "Bear with my mischief" — and then, with playful and graceful steps full of pride, you seated gods and demons in separate rows and distributed the nectar to the gods alone.
- verse 5अस्मास्वियं प्रणयिणीत्यसुरेषु तेषुजोषं स्थितेष्वथ समाप्य सुधां सुरेषु ।त्वं भक्तलोकवशगो निजरूपमेत्यस्वर्भानुमर्धपरिपीतसुधं व्यलावीः ॥5॥asmāsviyaṃ praṇayiṇītyasurēṣu tēṣujōṣaṃ sthitēṣvatha samāpya sudhāṃ surēṣu ।tvaṃ bhaktalōkavaśagō nijarūpamētyasvarbhānumardhaparipītasudhaṃ vyalāvīḥ ॥5॥meaning
As the demons sat silent thinking "she is in love with us," and once you had completed giving the nectar to all the gods, O you who are ever subject to your devotees, you assumed your own form and cut off Svarbhanu who had drunk half the nectar.

After giving the demons the fruit fitting of those who had surrendered the nectar to you, you departed; the gods then gathered and fought the demons; when in that terrible battle the demon-Maya's illusion bewildered the hosts of gods, you appeared…
- verse 7त्वं कालनेमिमथ मालिमुखाञ्जघन्थशक्रो जघान बलिजम्भवलान् सपाकान् ।शुष्कार्द्रदुष्करवधे नमुचौ च लूनेफेनेन नारदगिरा न्यरुणो रणं त्वम् ॥7॥tvaṃ kālanēmimatha mālimukhāñjaghanthaśakrō jaghāna balijambhavalān sapākān ।śuṣkārdraduṣkaravadhē namuchau cha lūnēphēnēna nāradagirā nyaruṇō raṇaṃ tvam ॥7॥meaning
You slew Kalanemi and Maly and others; Indra destroyed Bali, Jambha, Vala, and Paka; when Namuchi with his difficult dry-and-wet attack was being slain, you stopped the battle at Narada's words by using foam.

Having heard of your woman-form that had enchanted the demons, Maheshvara, desirous of seeing it, came with Parvati and all the bhuta-hosts to your abode; he praised you, stated his wish, and you then disappeared.

O God, as you ran away and he chased again, his virya released and supreme knowledge dawned in him; honored by you, he declared your greatness to Parvati — O such a one are you; O Lord of Guruvayur, protect me from ailment.
