- verse 1प्रियव्रतस्य प्रियपुत्रभूता-दाग्नीध्रराजादुदितो हि नाभिः ।त्वां दृष्टवानिष्टदमिष्टिमध्येतवैव तुष्ट्यै कृतयज्ञकर्मा ॥1॥priyavratasya priyaputrabhūtā-dāgnīdhrarājāduditō hi nābhiḥ ।tvāṃ dṛṣṭavāniṣṭadamiṣṭimadhyētavaiva tuṣṭyai kṛtayajñakarmā ॥1॥meaning
Born to Priyavrata's dear son Agnidhra, Nabhi saw you at a sacrifice performed for your sake and performed the ritual work for your satisfaction alone.

When the sages praised you there and the king asked for a son equal to himself, you said 'I myself will be born' and disappeared into the sacred grass, O form of the universe.

Then in Nabhi's beloved wife Merudevi you were born with a portion as the one called Rishabha, whose extraordinary virtues and power delighted all people.

When you, the sustainer of the three worlds, placed the burden of the kingdom on Nabhi, he went with Merudevi to the forest and became devoted to you, attaining the state of your supreme peace.

When Indra, angered by your superiority, withheld rain from Ajanabha-varsha, you then through your own yoga power made that land of yours a place of good rainfall.
- verse 6जितेन्द्रदत्तां कमनीं जयन्ती-मथोद्वहन्नात्मरताशयोऽपि ।अजीजनस्तत्र शतं तनूजा-नेषां क्षितीशो भरतोऽग्रजन्मा ॥6॥jitēndradattāṃ kamanīṃ jayantī-mathōdvahannātmaratāśayō'pi ।ajījanastatra śataṃ tanūjā-nēṣāṃ kṣitīśō bharatō'grajanmā ॥6॥meaning
Though inwardly self-delighting, you married the beautiful Jayanti given by Indra, and there begot a hundred sons—the eldest among them the sovereign Bharata.
- verse 7नवाभवन् योगिवरा नवान्येत्वपालयन् भारतवर्षखण्डान् ।सैका त्वशीतिस्तव शेषपुत्र-स्तपोबलात् भूसुरभूयमीयुः ॥7॥navābhavan yōgivarā navānyētvapālayan bhāratavarṣakhaṇḍān ।saikā tvaśītistava śēṣaputra-stapōbalāt bhūsurabhūyamīyuḥ ॥7॥meaning
Nine of them became foremost yogis and nine others protected the regions of Bharatavarsha; the remaining eighty-one, through the power of tapas, became brahmins.

Then, having taught the path of detachment and devotion leading to liberation in the midst of great sages, you yourself took on the ways of a paramahamsa—the conduct of the inert, the mad and the possessed.

Though one with the supreme Self, yet giving instruction to others, borne by all, always free of change—you wandered the entire earth absorbed in the bliss of the inner Self.

Having long practiced the vow of lying still, the cow-life, the deer-life, the crow-life, and attaining the supreme nature—your body consumed by a forest fire on Kutaka mountain—O lord of Guruvayur, remove my afflictions.
