    अग्रे पश्यामि तेजो निबिडतरकलायावलीलोभनीयंपीयूषाप्लावितोऽहं तदनु तदुदरे दिव्यकैशोरवेषम् ।तारुण्यारम्भरम्यं परमसुखरसास्वादरोमाञ्चिताङ्गै-रावीतं नारदाद्यैर्विलसदुपनिषत्सुन्दरीमण्डलैश्च ॥1॥

    Before me I see a radiance dense with clusters of brilliant blue-rays — I am bathed in nectar; in that I behold your divine boyish form, the beauty of your youth just beginning, encircled with thrilling awe by Narada and other great sages and by the lovely Upanishad maidens.

    Your abundant hair — dark, curly-tipped, thick, supremely pure, gracefully bound, adorned with jeweled topknot brilliant as a rising moon, with a cluster of peacock-feathers, garlanded with mandara blossoms, and with the fresh white vertical tilaka line on it — I behold, O Lord.

    uttuṅgōllāsināsaṃ harimaṇimukuraprōllasadgaṇḍapālī-vyālōlatkarṇapāśāñchitamakaramaṇīkuṇḍaladvandvadīpram ।unmīladdantapaṅktisphuradaruṇatarachChāyabimbādharāntaḥ-prītiprasyandimandasmitamadhurataraṃ vaktramudbhāsatāṃ mē ॥4॥

    Your distinguished nose, your cheeks glowing with the reflection of swinging gem-earrings shaped like the makara, the interior of your mouth radiant with a row of bright teeth, the redness of your bimba-like lower lip within — and your ever sweeter faint smile, flowing with joy — I meditate on this face.

    bāhudvandvēna ratnōjjvalavalayabhṛtā śōṇapāṇipravālē-nōpāttāṃ vēṇunālī prasṛtanakhamayūkhāṅgulīsaṅgaśārām ।kṛtvā vaktrāravindē sumadhuravikasadrāgamudbhāvyamānaiḥśabdabrahmāmṛtaistvaṃ śiśiritabhuvanaiḥ siñcha mē karṇavīthīm ॥5॥

    With your pair of arms bearing jeweled bracelets, your red-tender hands, you hold in your finger-tips aglow with rays of outspread nails the flute-stalk, making the sound of sacred syllables — you hold it to your lotus-face and create the nectar of sweet raga — with that raga-nectar you cool the worlds.

    mañjīraṃ mañjunādairiva padabhajanaṃ śrēya ityālapantaṃpādāgraṃ bhrāntimajjatpraṇatajanamanōmandarōddhārakūrmam ।uttuṅgātāmrarājannakharahimakarajyōtsnayā chā'śritānāṃsantāpadhvāntahantrīṃ tatimanukalayē maṅgalāmaṅgulīnām ॥9॥

    yōgīndrāṇāṃ tvadaṅgēṣvadhikasumadhuraṃ muktibhājāṃ nivāsōbhaktānāṃ kāmavarṣadyutarukisalayaṃ nātha tē pādamūlam ।nityaṃ chittasthitaṃ mē pavanapurapatē kṛṣṇa kāruṇyasindhōhṛtvā niśśēṣatāpān pradiśatu paramānandasandōhalakṣmīm ॥10॥

    O Lord, your feet — for the best of yogis the sweetest of all your limbs, the abode of the liberated, for devotees a wish-tree's young shoot, O Natha — may your feet be ever present in my mind, O Lord of Guruvayur, O Krishna, O ocean of compassion — remove all my afflictions.

    If in not knowing your greatness anything wrong has been said — O lord of the universe, forgive; may this hymn greater than the thousand more become for your pleasure; in two ways is this Narayaniyam supreme among scriptures and in its celebrating of your incarnations — thus does this illustrious work conclude.
