- verse 1घुष्यते यस्य नगरे रङ्गयात्रा दिने दिने ।तमहं शिरसा वन्दे राजानं कुलशेखरम् ॥ghuṣyatē yasya nagarē raṅgayātrā dinē dinē ।tamahaṃ śirasā vandē rājānaṃ kulaśēkharam ॥meaning
I bow my head to King Kulashekhara, in whose city the procession of Ranga's chariot is proclaimed every day.

We bow to the Lord who is called Shrivallabha, the Boon-giver, the Compassionate, the Beloved of devotees, the Expert in plundering samsara, our Master, the one who sleeps on Naga, and the Lord of the universe.

Victory, victory to this deity, the joy of Devaki; victory, victory to Krishna, the lamp of the Vrishni clan; victory to the cloud-hued Madhava, the destroyer of the demon Mura, the wielder of the bow Sharnga.

O Mukunda, I prostrate before you and ask you this one thing — this much only: may there be no forgetfulness of your lotus feet throughout my existence in this world.

I do not worship your two feet for the sake of any selfish purpose, nor to escape even the terrible hell of Kumbhipaka — but only because your lotus feet are the ocean of beauty and supremely worth enjoying.
- verse 6नास्था धर्मे न वसुनिचये नैव कामोपभोगेयद्यद्भव्यं भवतु भगवन् पूर्वकर्मानुरूपम् ।एतत्प्रार्थ्यं मम बहुमतं जन्मजन्मान्तरेऽपित्वत्पादाम्भोरुहयुगगता निश्चला भक्तिरस्तु ॥ 5 ॥nāsthā dharmē na vasunichayē naiva kāmōpabhōgēyadyadbhavyaṃ bhavatu bhagavan pūrvakarmānurūpam ।ētatprārthyaṃ mama bahumataṃ janmajanmāntarē'pitvatpādāmbhōruhayugagatā niśchalā bhaktirastu ॥ 5 ॥meaning
I have no attachment to dharma, nor to accumulating wealth, nor to enjoying pleasures — let whatever is destined happen according to previous karma; but O Lord, grant me this — steady and unfailing devotion to your feet.

Whether my dwelling be in heaven, on earth, or freely in hell, O destroyer of hell — with those two feet of yours, which shame the autumn lotus, as my refuge, I care not.

O Krishna, may the royal swan that is my mind enter your lotus-cage this very day — lest at the time of death, when breath falters and the throat is choked with phlegm, it be unable to utter your name.

O timid mind, do not be afraid, thinking of the long torments of hell — our master is surely Shri Hari; these armies of sins cannot prevail over us.

O Hari, the boat of your feet — grant it to those caught in the ocean of birth-and-death, struck by the gusts of duality, crushed under the burden of protecting sons, daughters, and spouse.

O mind, do not be cowardly thinking: "How shall I cross the unfathomable ocean of birth?" — for Hari, the lotus-eyed one, is the very ferryman.

O Hari, crossing this great ocean called samsara — with water of thirst, waves of passion, whirlpools of wife, crocodile-clusters of sons and relatives.
- verse 16माद्राक्षं क्षीणपुण्यान् क्षणमपि भवतो भक्तिहीनान्पदाब्जेमाश्रौषं श्राव्यबन्धं तव चरितमपास्यान्यदाख्यानजातम् ।मास्मार्षं माधव त्वामपि भुवनपते चेतसापह्नुवाना--न्माभूवं त्वत्सपर्याव्यतिकररहितो जन्मजन्मान्तरेऽपि ॥ 15 ॥mādrākṣaṃ kṣīṇapuṇyān kṣaṇamapi bhavatō bhaktihīnānpadābjēmāśrauṣaṃ śrāvyabandhaṃ tava charitamapāsyānyadākhyānajātam ।māsmārṣaṃ mādhava tvāmapi bhuvanapatē chētasāpahnuvānā--nmābhūvaṃ tvatsaparyāvyatikararahitō janmajanmāntarē'pi ॥ 15 ॥meaning
May I never see the sinful whose merit is spent, who lack devotion at your foot-lotus even for a moment; may I not hear the words of the unworthy who ignore the story of your deeds.

O tongue, praise Keshava, the foe of Mura; O mind, meditate on Shridhara; O two hands, worship Achyuta; O two ears, hear only the stories of Krishna.

O people, hear this medicine for the disease of birth and death, which yoga-knowers and sages like Yajnavalkya declare.

O mortals, hear this supreme benefit I will tell you briefly — having truly entered the ocean of samsara, full of waves of calamities.
- verse 20पृथ्वीरेणुरणुः पयांसि कणिकाः फल्गुः स्फुलिङ्गोऽलघु--स्तेजो निःश्वसनं मरुत्तनुतरं रन्ध्रं सुसूक्ष्मं नभः ।क्षुद्रा रुद्रपितामहप्रभृतयः कीटाः समस्ताः सुराःदृष्टे यत्र स तावको विजयते भूमावधूतावधिः ॥ 19 ॥pṛthvīrēṇuraṇuḥ payāṃsi kaṇikāḥ phalguḥ sphuliṅgō'laghu--stējō niḥśvasanaṃ maruttanutaraṃ randhraṃ susūkṣmaṃ nabhaḥ ।kṣudrā rudrapitāmahaprabhṛtayaḥ kīṭāḥ samastāḥ surāḥdṛṣṭē yatra sa tāvakō vijayatē bhūmāvadhūtāvadhiḥ ॥ 19 ॥meaning
The earth is but a dust-particle, the waters a mere drop, the fire a tiny spark, the wind a fine sigh, the space a small slit — Vishnu's Yoga-maya who created all this is thus to be meditated upon.

With joined palms, bowed head, body with horripilation, throat choked with voice, and eyes overflowing with tears.

O cowherd, O ocean of compassion, O husband of the ocean's daughter, O slayer of Kamsa, O compassionate saviour of Gajendra, O Madhava.

The gem of protection for devotees, the jewel of protection for all three worlds, the cloud-jewel for the chakora birds that are the eyes of the Gopi, the jewel-seal of beauty.

The sole mantra for destroying the enemy, the mantra worshipped by all Upanishad words, the mantra for crossing samsara, the mantra that dispels the dense darkness of accumulated ignorance.

The medicine that calms the confusion of infatuation, the medicine that moves the activity of the sage-minds, the medicine that causes pain to the king of demons, the three-world reviving medicine.

Daily recitation of the Vedas is a cry in the forest, Vedic vows are fruitless, flesh-cutting penances are futile, ritual methods are all oblations in ash.

The fruit of my birth is this alone, this alone is my prayer, this alone is my grace — to be a servant of the servants of your servants.

O Narayana, the highest Purushottama, the sole sovereign of the three worlds, the adorable one, the giver of his own station, the divine one, our master — while he stands.

O Love, abandon your stay in my mind, that abode of the lotus-feet of Mukunda — you are scorched by Hara's fire-eye; do you not remember?
- verse 31तत्त्वं ब्रुवाणानि परं परस्मा--न्मधु क्षरन्तीव सतां फलानि ।प्रावर्तय प्राञ्जलिरस्मि जिह्वेनामानि नारायण गोचराणि ॥ 30 ॥tattvaṃ bruvāṇāni paraṃ parasmā--nmadhu kṣarantīva satāṃ phalāni ।prāvartaya prāñjalirasmi jihvēnāmāni nārāyaṇa gōcharāṇi ॥ 30 ॥meaning
O tongue, set in motion the three verses that proclaim the supreme truth, that are the fruits of the pure, flowing like honey — I stand with joined palms.
- verse 32इदं शरीरं परिणामपेशलंपतत्यवश्यं श्लथसन्धिजर्जरम् ।किमौषधैः क्लिश्यसि मूढ दुर्मतेनिरामयं कृष्णरसायनं पिब ॥ 31 ॥idaṃ śarīraṃ pariṇāmapēśalaṃpatatyavaśyaṃ ślathasandhijarjaram ।kimauṣadhaiḥ kliśyasi mūḍha durmatēnirāmayaṃ kṛṣṇarasāyanaṃ piba ॥ 31 ॥meaning
This body, rendered supple by ripening, must inevitably fall, its joints slack with old age — O deluded foolish one, why do you torment it with medicines?

Your spouse is Lakshmi from the excellent ocean, your son is Brahma, your praises are the Vedas, your retinue is the assembly of gods — your grace is liberation, your Maya is the world.
- verse 34कृष्णो रक्षतु नो जगत्त्रयगुरुः कृष्णं नमस्याम्यहंकृष्णेनामरशत्रवो विनिहताः कृष्णाय तस्मै नमः ।कृष्णादेव समुत्थितं जगदिदं कृष्णस्य दासोऽस्म्यहंकृष्णे तिष्ठति सर्वमेतदखिलं हे कृष्ण रक्षस्व माम् ॥ 33 ॥kṛṣṇō rakṣatu nō jagattrayaguruḥ kṛṣṇaṃ namasyāmyahaṃkṛṣṇēnāmaraśatravō vinihatāḥ kṛṣṇāya tasmai namaḥ ।kṛṣṇādēva samutthitaṃ jagadidaṃ kṛṣṇasya dāsō'smyahaṃkṛṣṇē tiṣṭhati sarvamētadakhilaṃ hē kṛṣṇa rakṣasva mām ॥ 33 ॥meaning
May Krishna protect us, the guru of the three worlds — I bow to Krishna; by Krishna the enemies of the gods were slain; I salute that Krishna.

O Vishnu, be pleased with me who am without shelter, O supreme compassionate one — you are truly merciful; rescue me, sinking in this ocean of samsara.

- verse 38अनन्त वैकुण्ठ मुकुन्द कृष्णगोविन्द दामोदर माधवेति ।वक्तुं समर्थोऽपि न वक्ति कश्चि--दहो जनानां व्यसनाभिमुख्यम् ॥ 37 ॥ananta vaikuṇṭha mukunda kṛṣṇagōvinda dāmōdara mādhavēti ।vaktuṃ samarthō'pi na vakti kaśchi--dahō janānāṃ vyasanābhimukhyam ॥ 37 ॥meaning
O Ananta, O Vaikuntha, O Mukunda, O Krishna, O Govinda, O Damodara, O Madhava — though able to utter these, no one utters them.
- verse 39ध्यायन्ति ये विष्णुमनन्तमव्ययंहृत्पद्ममध्ये सततं व्यवस्थितम् ।समाहितानां सतताभयप्रदंते यान्ति सिद्धिं परमां च वैष्णवीम् ॥ 38 ॥dhyāyanti yē viṣṇumanantamavyayaṃhṛtpadmamadhyē satataṃ vyavasthitam ।samāhitānāṃ satatābhayapradaṃtē yānti siddhiṃ paramāṃ cha vaiṣṇavīm ॥ 38 ॥meaning
Those who constantly meditate on the infinite, imperishable Vishnu established always at the centre of the heart-lotus — for those composed ones, the giver of eternal fearlessness.
