Brihaspati gathered the divine plants and with them performed the sacrifice by which the gods conquered their enemies and attained supremacy.

Brihaspati is the lord of divine speech; through his grace the sacrificer's words become powerful, his prayers are heard, and his knowledge becomes luminous.
