    Indra raised his thunderbolt against Vṛtra; Vṛtra was afraid of the raised thunderbolt and said to Indra: 'O Indra, you are great—do not strike me; I will give you the ukthya-cup.'

    By this heroic power the sacrificer cuts off [the enemy]; you are seized by the upayāma for Indra of the great utterance, with vigour, the recitation-loving—this is your womb, for Indra devoted to recitation.
