    Your arched eyebrow is the bow; the arrow is the glance; the bowstring is your ear-ornament — let the dark-hued crooked one fashion only the pain of the heart.

    tāni sparśasukhāni cha taralāḥ snigdhā dṛśōrvibhramā-stadvaktrāmbujasaurabhaṃ sa cha sudhāsyandī girāṃ vakrimā bimbādharamādhurīti viṣayāsaṅgē'pi chēnmānasaṃ tasyāṃ lagnasamādhi hanta virahavyādhiḥ kathaṃ vardhatē23

    Those delights of your touch, the roving tender glances of your loving eyes, the fragrance of your lotus-face, those soft lips — I remember all of them now in this separation.

    Your brow is the budding leaf-bow; the arrows are the waves of your sidelong glance; the bowstring is your earring — thus Kama is armed with your beauty.
