• verse 1

  द्विरदवदन विषमरद वरद जयेशान शान्तवरसदन ।सदनवसादन दयया कुरु सादनमन्तरायस्य ॥ 1 ॥

  meaning

  O you with the face of an elephant, bearing an unequal tusk, giver of boons, lord of the victorious, O Sha ntavara-Sadana — by your grace bring down the house of obstacles.

  इन्दुकला कलितालिक सालिकशुम्भत्कपोलपालियुग ।विकटस्फुटकटधाराधारोऽस्यस्य प्रपञ्चस्य ॥ 2 ॥

  indukalā kalitālika sālikaśumbhatkapōlapāliyuga ।vikaṭasphuṭakaṭadhārādhārō'syasya prapañchasya ॥ 2 ॥

  meaning

  O you with a forehead adorned by the digit of the moon, with polished gleaming cheeks, with a stout curving trunk — you are the support of this universe.

  वरपरशुपाशपाणे पणितपणायापणायितोऽसि यतः ।आरूह्य वज्रदन्तं आखुं विदधासि विपदन्तम् ॥ 3 ॥

  varaparaśupāśapāṇē paṇitapaṇāyāpaṇāyitō'si yataḥ ।ārūhya vajradantaṃ ākhuṃ vidadhāsi vipadantam ॥ 3 ॥

  meaning

  O bearer of the excellent axe and noose in hand, you accepted a wager and were victorious — riding on the rat you bring the end of calamities.

  लम्बोदर दूर्वासन शयधृतसामोदमोदकाशनक ।शनकैरवलोकय मां यमान्तरायापहारिचारुदृशा ॥ 4 ॥

  lambōdara dūrvāsana śayadhṛtasāmōdamōdakāśanaka ।śanakairavalōkaya māṃ yamāntarāyāpahārichārudṛśā ॥ 4 ॥

  meaning

  O Lambodara, seated on a mat of Durva grass, fond of modaka sweets, O graceful-eyed one — look on me slowly and remove the obstacle of Yama.

  आनन्दतुन्दिलाखिलवृन्दारकवृन्दवन्दिताङ्घ्रियुग ।सुखधृतदण्डरसालो नागजभालोऽतिभासि विभो ॥ 5 ॥

  ānandatundilākhilavṛndārakavṛndavanditāṅghriyuga ।sukhadhṛtadaṇḍarasālō nāgajabhālō'tibhāsi vibhō ॥ 5 ॥

  meaning

  Your lotus feet are praised by the assembled gods, the troop of all divine beings; you bear a gentle staff of sweet-wood — the one born of Naga's forehead shines forth brilliantly, O Vibhu.

  अगणेयगुणेशात्मज चिन्तकचिन्तामणे गणेशान ।स्वचरणशरणं करुणावरुणालय देव पाहि मां दीनम् ॥ 6 ॥

  agaṇēyaguṇēśātmaja chintakachintāmaṇē gaṇēśāna ।svacharaṇaśaraṇaṃ karuṇāvaruṇālaya dēva pāhi māṃ dīnam ॥ 6 ॥

  meaning

  O son of the Lord of the ganas, O innumerable-quality god, O Chintamani, O Ganesha — I the destitute take shelter at your feet; O lord, O ocean of mercy, protect me.

  रुचिरवचोऽमृतरावोन्नीता नीता दिवं स्तुतिः स्फीता ।इति षट्पदी मदीया गणपतिपादाम्बुजे विशतु ॥ 7 ॥

  ruchiravachō'mṛtarāvōnnītā nītā divaṃ stutiḥ sphītā ।iti ṣaṭpadī madīyā gaṇapatipādāmbujē viśatu ॥ 7 ॥

  May this six-verse hymn of mine, elevated by beautiful words of ambrosia, a hymn that is full and has ascended to heaven — enter into Ganapati's lotus feet.
