- verse 1अवनितलं पुनरवतीर्णा स्यात्संस्कृतगङ्गाधारा ।धीरभगीरथवंशोऽस्माकंवयं तु कृतनिर्धाराः ॥avanitalaṃ punaravatīrṇā syātsaṃskṛtagaṅgādhārā ।dhīrabhagīrathavaṃśō'smākaṃvayaṃ tu kṛtanirdhārāḥ ॥meaning
May the Ganga-stream of Sanskrit descend once again upon the earth; ours is the lineage of the steadfast Bhagiratha — we are the resolute ones who will bring her down.

Let us go from village to village teaching Sanskrit; for the satisfaction and welfare of all let us not count our own toil — when effort is made, what is not gained? Such are our resolves.
