Lakshmi, even Brahma and the lord-gods Rudra, Sun, and Moon lack capacity to speak your virtues fully; how then can we describe your form, marks, and qualities—O Mother, World-birth-giver, protect me, making my desire steadfast.

Hearing this word of Agastya, gladdened and beloved of Hari, Lakshmi spoke in a sweet voice: I am always satisfied with you.

Lakshmi spoke: Whoever among men recites this stotra that you have proclaimed, or hears it with great fortune, I shall be subject to his will.

He who recites this with devotion daily—Lakshmi's absence perishes from him, keen debt vanishes, and separation he never beholds.

Phala-shruti: He who recites this rising at dawn filled with faith and devotion—in his home Lakshmi shall dwell always, together with her consort.
